Opens your subconscious mind and makes way for enhanced clarity of thought. A great one to use to help you achieve your goals and complete your projects sooner than you planned. It gives you the wisdom and strength to turn plans into reality. This stone also gives you the know how to figure out complex problems or situations. It is very grounding and an excellent one to use during meditation.
Crystal System...
Larvikite is a monzonitic Feldspar rock in the Feldspar family which places it in the triclinc system. It contains Nepheline Syenite, Plagioclase, Perthite, Anorthoclase, Anorthite, Ortholclase, and Albite (basically plutonic rocks).
It is generally a dark grey, dark blue, or black in its coloring. It usually has Nepheline (a characteristic mineral of alkaline plutonic rocks) or Quartz inclusions. Its name has come from the place where this one is found in the Larvik Region of Norway.
Sometimes it is called Black Moonstone (I was guilty of that), even though it’s not actually a moonstone. It is also called Birds Eye Granite, Pearlspar, Blue Pearl, Emerald Pearl, Norwegian Pearl Granite, or Blue Norwegian Moonstone.
Application...
Larvikite has worked well for me in the past as a pendant, or lately, carrying a couple tumbled ones with me throughout the day. I have to say that I was able to work out a project I had put on the back burner for a couple of years and in these past few weeks carrying this one helped me figure out how I would accomplish my plans. So, once again, I received reinforcement of my belief that when I am ready, a stone comes to help me.
Spiritually...
Larvikite can stimulate inner vision and enhance psychic abilities. It will allow us to see the past, providing clarity to visions of past life recall. It aids us in seeing ourselves through the eyes of our higher self and can create new pathways for knowledge.
Emotionally...
Larkivite allows us to read between the lines to understand what other people mean on both conscious and unconscious levels. It is also a great one to use to stimulate lucid dreaming. You will be able to remember your dreams vividly, and this helps ininterpreting their meaning more accurately to resolve emotional issues that it's time to let go of.
Mentally...
Larvikite can remove unnecessary thoughts and help to sharpen your concentration. It aids us in becoming aware of negative energies and assists in making a conscious decision to give out positive energies instead.
Physically...
Larvikite has been used to treat skin disorders and enhance vitality and youthfulness. It also has been known to help brain function, especially after suffering a stroke. It has been shown to cleanse and purify body tissue, bring harmony to the metabolism and help with muscular detoxification. Also in some cases, to help reduce blood pressure.

Larvikite has a special affinity with Aquarius but benefits all signs. It has a Projective Energy, its Planet is Earth and its Element is Water.
Folklore...
Larvikite tales say it will help to connect with the Night Fairies and forest folk. It is said that faries called Underjordiska in Norway were guardians of the earth and land. Their appearance and moods would change depending on how they were treated. This would be a good reminder for all of us to be kind so our appearance would be more pleasant too.
Apparently if you sleep or meditate with a piece of Larvikite the fairies may make themselves known to you in your dreams or visions. And if you are lucky enough when you wake, you may catch a flash of them out of the corner of your eye just like the shimmer in these stones.
