The names corresponding to the 13 Lunar Year Full Moons are what I have come to call them. I give credit to all those before me for figuring out what seems to work and for passing it on to me. They can be called by many other names in respect to your particular path or tradition. (more moon information)
I call the full moon in April the Seed Moon. This name indicates the season most appropriate for planting the seeds for what you hope will flourish in the coming season of growth and fertility. Since the whole phase of this particular moon is about growth and new beginnings, I started all my flower and vegetable seeds at its start on the New Moon as my Grampa had taught me. Some have already sprouted.
On the Full Moon, it is finally time to take all those thoughts and ideas you've had simmering on the back burner for the past few months and bring them to life. If you want that new job, to have a child, to bring love into your life, this is the time for new beginnings. The trees are budding, bulbs have sprouted (with some already blooming), birds are busy building their nests, the deadness of winter has passed and a new season of growth is upon us all.
This moon is also known as the Pink Moon (from the wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring), the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among US coastal Native American tribes, the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.
In the Celtic Tree tradition this one is called Saille or Willow. And in Nordic traditions, (which is governed by half months rather than full months), they divide this moon by Man (Human) and Lagu (Flowing Water).
Garnet, Aquamarine, Emerald, Tree Agate
