Drumming For Peace Day
DRUMS AROUND THE WORLD - DRUMMING FOR PEACE
Sunday, August 23, 2009 - 3pm to 6pm
Drumming for Peace was created not just because of the existing war or the threats of war. It is not just pursued for bonding of ties between different beliefs and cultures. It is because to achieve any of these things, first must come an inner peace within individuals which then can and will help to expand that peace into the grand unfolding existence we call today.
We are honored to once again be hosting this special event! The date has been confirmed and
we hope you will join us for the 16th Annual Drums Around the World on August 23 from 3pm to 6pm
This event traditionally takes place simultaneously with other drum circles around the USA and beyond. Come and join us with Michael Suess, from Drumming for Peace, who will be facilitating our circle here in Richmond.
For those out of the area, please join forces with us and set something up in your home town!
Email us your location and we'll let everyone here know who is joining us!
All are welcome. Bring your own drum or use one the group can provide (a limited supply). We will have some extra seating available and you are encouraged to bring some of your own. To help us better plan, if you will be attending, please try to RSVP by email or call me at the studio at 815/862-1050.
No drumming experience is necessary. This is a FREE event and we hope you will be able to join us.
| The likes of Baba Olatunji, Arthur Hull, Jim Greiner, Michael DeMartino, and many others built the foundation for the event, and over the years drum circle facilitators in some 37 countries have participated. It is shaping up to be one of the biggest drum events of the year and perhaps of the recent past! Let your voice be heard and join in the incredible power of this intention! | CIRCLE OF PEACE A drum circle is a way of creating rhythm as a group. In a drum circle of peace, creating rhythm together helps focus our intentions for positive change.

I was honored to host the 15th annual community drum circle, calling for world peace, unity and global harmony in 2008.

| Thank you to all who attended and those who let me know they joined us from all over the country! We were blessed with absolutely perfect weather for our gathering here in Richmond. | We were also honored to start our session with a brief peace meditation and a blessing lead by a monk from the Blue Lotus Temple in Woodstock. She guided us to find our inner peace and then to send it out to the world. | As we drummed, passers by stopped to listen and to join in, and at one point over 60 drums beat a peace message in unison. The energies were just awesome! | ||
